Accounts Receivable/Payable Coordinator


Ideal candidates will be detail oriented; have strong basic math skills and be comfortable working with numbers; have strong organizational skills and an ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously; be able to prioritize their workload to meet scheduled deadlines; and be committed to maintaining the security of confidential personnel and company financial information. This position also requires an proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and the ability to proactively and effectively communicate with other staff to facilitate efficient and accurate invoice production.  Candidate will also perform accounting and clerical duties of average difficulty in computation, receipt of payments, and input large volumes of data into the computer system.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain financial records and process accounting documents.
  • Enter and maintain accounts receivables.
  • Perform data entry; post receipts, disbursements, and other journal entries to various customer and vendor accounts.
  • Prepare collections for deposit; prepare daily cash balance receipts; input cash receipts and other data into the computer system.
  • Prepare and review invoices for customer accounts; audit invoices for accuracy; maintain record of payments received.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Post accounts payable invoices.
  • Record and maintain all 1099 information.
  • Prepare accounts payable checks in a timely manner.
  • Research and answer all receivable and vendor inquiries.
  • Operate computer equipment, 10-key calculator, and other common office machines.

  • Experience with Excel, Word and all other Microsoft programs.

Claims Specialist


MedMal Direct Insurance Company (MedMal Direct), a premier medical malpractice insurance company currently seeks candidates for its Claims Specialist position at our office in Jacksonville, Florida.  This position maintains an active caseload in a variety of phases of claim management.

Essential Functions:

The Claims Specialist may be required to do any and all of these duties for case management/investigation of claims, depending on specific needs of the assigned unit.

Investigates cases from initial contact to resolution including: Coverage verification, case investigation, analysis and synthesis of all medical facts, including thorough review of medical records; conducts in-depth interviews; prepare detailed and comprehensive written reports; secures consultant reviews; directs and monitors attorney work product and executes recommendations regarding case resolution.

  • Evaluates liability and damage information to establish consistent and appropriate indemnity and ALAE reserves. Provides required documentation.
  • Approves bills and controls expense functions.
  • Monitors trial activities and negotiates settlements within given authority, including direct negotiation with plaintiffs and plaintiff attorneys.
  • Attends case related activities including, but not limited to, arbitration, mediation, settlement conferences, pre-trial conferences, and trials.
  • Assists with various Team and Departmental projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.

Physical/Environmental Working Conditions:

  • General office environment is primarily sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: standing, sitting, walking, reaching, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. 
  • A moderate noise level is usual.
  • Local and overnight travel is required


  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Able to plan and carry out short and long-range activities and assign priorities.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and understand and communicate complex medical and legal concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in conducting in-depth investigations with insureds and others. 
  • Strong Writing and reporting skills; must be able to effectively present comprehensive reports and recommendations.

  • Five (5) years or greater medical malpractice claims handling experience.  Four (4) year college degree preferred.  
  • State Adjuster License eligible.

Inside Sales Executive


The Inside Sales Executive is an inside sales role that is based at the MedMal Direct home office in Jacksonville, FL. The Inside Sales Executive is preferred to have one year of medical professional liability experience in sales. The Account Manager must have a minimum of one year experience with medical professional liability insurance.
